When it comes to recycling, community counts!

Show us why community counts – and WIN!

For 20 years, community groups in our province have embraced recycling by turning empty containers into cash refunds to help deliver valuable work and meaningful services, all while helping protect our environment.

The Community Counts Contest celebrates the Beverage Container Recycling Program’s 20th anniversary by thanking all community groups for making it count!

    It’s easy to ENTER

Community groups that have registered for an xpress account, on or before November 1, 2017, can send us a short video (90 seconds or less) showing how your group makes recycling refunds count in the community. One entry per group. See Official Rules and Regulations for complete details.

    UPLOAD your video

From November 6th to November 27th, upload your video and your community group could win!

    Then make your vote COUNT

From December 1st to December 15th, voting is open to the public.  Voting is as simple as selecting your favourite video on the voting page. Everyone can vote once each day.

    And WIN!

    There’s $20,000 to be won!

    Votes will determine:

    • a first-place winner of $5,000
    • a second-place winner of $3,000

Prizes will be issued via cheque or Electronic Funds Transfer (ETF) in the name of the Entrant, as entered in the Contest. In the event a bank account is not established in the name of the Entrant, the Prize will be awarded to the representative of the Entrant, providing that the individual can demonstrate that the funds will be held in trust for the Entrant and will only be used in carrying out its goals and obligations.

If selected winners do not respond within fifteen (15) business days of initial notification by email, the Prize shall be forfeited and Sponsor has the right, at its sole discretion, to select another winner. If a winner cannot use the Prize money to carry out its goals and obligations, the Entrant must notify the Sponsor when responding to the initial notification of winning.

Any information provided via Hootsuite Campaigns will only be used for the purpose of confirming information and distributing the Prizes (see Sponsor’s privacy policy). The names of winning Entrants (community groups) will be posted publicly on the Contest Page and on the Sponsor’s Facebook Page and Twitter account.
